Rachel Holmes Interview

Updated: Aug 12, 2023

Meet our young entrepreneur, Rachel Holmes!

About

Rachel Holmes, just a freshmen at UC Berkeley, is the founder and CEO of a non-profit organization called Black Girls Mean Business (BGMB)! BGMB is a business program for Black High School Girls designed to prepare them for a career in business by providing them with mentors, skill workshops, resources, and support. More specifically, she leads a team of volunteers- including the mentors, speakers from the workshops, and friends & family offering tech and promotional support. Rachel and I also discussed her time as an officer in the Black Student Union during her high school years and how that shaped her views for the need for black girls in business. Balancing both the tough work load for her college classes and non- profit organization, Rachel shows tenacity and hard work. Check out our discussion to learn more about this young entrepreneur!

Say YES to the youth changing the World!

I want to inspire, publicize, and recognize the entrepreneurs of the youth, as well as the work they are doing. I will inspire the youth by showing the great things people their age are doing and showing that it is possible for them to do the same.
